Janolyn started making soaps in 2001. She sold it at a small farmers market in Quilcene for one summer a year or two later. Since then she has been using up what she had as life took her a different direction for a while. But she never stopped looking at recipes and reading about different methods. This time when she made soap, she tried something new mixed with her favorite recipe and came up with a bar that is really special. In the past, the goat milk soap recipes burned the milk when it was mixed with the lye and knowing about nutrition this really bothered her. All the great properties of the milk were burned away. Now the milk is mixed in cold late in the process and retains its nutrients much better. I now have a bar of soap that feels creamy AND cleans like a champion.
